Chapter 10- Family& Death

     All good things must come to an end, and no one will accompany you forever. Everyone will die and there is no exception, but people's life may ended in different ways. In Taiwan, there were some things happened and some people died recently. 

*Illness: Most of  people died because of illness and so did one of the famous celebrities in Taiwan. He died of cancer which diagnosed three years ago, but he didn't see the doctor immediately, and eventually passed away.

*Accident: In Taiwan, drunk driving has caused serious problems, not only many people were killed by drunk driving, but also tore a lot of family.

*Suicide: Nowadays, people kill themselves seems not rare and even become a modern disease. There was a news that highly discussed recently - The female writer killed herself  and the plots in her book were considered real events.

     Although there are three different ways of death, I think what  the family feel are sad and even pain. Illness seems can't fully prevent and especially to elder people, the family will still sad but they have more and well prepared for the lost of family member. However, when the family face accidents, they don't have any time to react the lost of member.

     Suicide, why I didn't write commit suicide since I don't think this behavior is such a crime. People who killed themselves were just control by their mind and didn't interrupt other people; however, I think this way of death will give the family the most pain and also need more time to cure.

                                                                                          Hoping that all of the death can rest in peace.

Chapter 9 - Dream or Goal

     After taking countless tests and studying from many day to night, I finally got into a ideal college, and also achieved the goal when I was a senior high school student. And..? What's next?
     Some people might think that goal and dream is the same thing; however, I think goal is more actual than dream. Nowadays, people always ask students and adults what their goal is, but not ask what's their dream. It seems that only when we are a child, people will ask what's our dream. Whether it means that when we are grow up, what we need to do is achieve our goals and dream means nothing.
     As time goes, I also become an adult, and I know that we can't rely on dream. Although there is a sentence says that our future depends on our dreams, I think it half wrong and half right. Without goals, we may live for nothing, but without dreams, we may be nothing. Sometimes, it is hard to us to choose dream or goal because we don't know if we can handle both of them.
     In fact, I think there is something can be dream or goal - Do not become the person I don't appreciate and it is my first goal and dream. I know it can't be prevent that we will gradually become same kind of people that what the society expect. It is hard to say whether I will become that kind of person in the future, I hope that I can realize the first goal and dream.

Chapter 8 - Home

     It is the eighth article of my blog, and I want to introduce another topic. Since I only written daily life of college, I want to talk about more serious topic. As the age goes, I can realize the meaning of home more deeply, especially as a college student. College is the period between study and work, before I became a college student, what I need to do was preparing for the tests and taking the exams; moreover, what we cared about was whether the score is good or not. However, when we entered the college, what we need to face is not just study. We will gradually touch and experience the real society and real world that we didn't learn from the books. I don't know whether I am lucky or not because since I got into this school, I haven't feel any frustration about interact with others. I believe that the world we know will be more complicate when we grow up, and we can not go back to the time we don't need to worry about anything and just need to went to school and played with friends.
     But no matter what the world changed or what we enforced to change, there is always a place will never change - Home. I am sure that even I become a thirty years old man, my parents will still treat me like a kid and my sister will also pay with me like a child. Although we always chase different goals and have different mind for anytime, we should know that there is a place and there are some people will never change when you need a place to rest or need to cheer up by someone. Home is an important role in our life because it accompany us since we were born. I will introduce more detail in next few weeks blogs about the"Home".

Chapter 7- Bicycle

     As a student in NCKU, there is an indispensable thing when I crossing different campuses, rushing to classes and buying daily supplies, that is my bicycle.
     My father bought the second-handed red bicycle for me, although it is not a new bike and I also fixed the bike for a few times, it carries many memories. The reason I want to write my bike is because it almost represents my freshman year. I rely on my bike to go wherever I want to go, but the situation might become different next semester since I will have a motorcycle.
     I think the relation between me and my bike is just like get along with people ,when I received the bike from my father is like the first time I meet someone. And as the time goes, we are getting more and more familiar to each other, also sometimes I need to take care about and fixed it like people care each other. However, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Just like the human, no one can accompany with you forever, and so as my bike. Although, I might still use it, it would not be as often as now.
     In spite of it just a bike, I have a strong feeling to it since it took me the know this school and this place more deeply. Moreover, it has accompanied I for almost a year. Last but not least, I have so many words to my bike because I realized how important my bike is. I parked my bike at a wrong place last week and it was locked, so I had to walk to classes every day this week.
 

Chapter 6 – Dcard (2)

     Last week l introduced a popular app among college students - Dcard. Although this app have been downloaded for over one million times, I pointed two disadvantages last week and I am going to pointed other disadvantages.

*Meaningless Articles

The original intention of Dcard is to communicate with other students and exchange useful information. However, as the time goes there are more and more meaningless articles and make the quality of Dcard getting lower and lower. Some people feel upset to saw this kind of situation and do not want to use the app at all.

*Age Limit

Users have to register their e-mail of college so that can upload the articles and draw cards. According to the statistic of Ministry of Education, there are about one million people study in college now. However, there are just forty thousand people register now, and means that even they are not a college students, they can easily download the app. Frankly speaking, some categories of Dard are not suitable for people under eighteen, although those people can not upload articles, they can still browse all of articles. I think it might cause problems because if some teenagers imitate the inappropriate behaviors in the articles of Dcard. So I believe that it is need to have the regulation of the user's age limit.

       

     Some of you might think I am to exaggerate to just argue an app, but I think even just a small thing can cause unpredictable outcomes. Moreover, we live in an Internet world, everything can spread every fast, so that we should judge a thing more carefully and even an app.

Chapter 5 - Dcard(1)

     What would you do when you using the cellphone? If you are a college student from Taiwan, I believe that Dcard plays an important part to some of your daily life. However, it seems that Dcard is a popular app, but do we really know about this app and realize what problems it may cause?

*What is Dcard
Dcard is an app that can let some Taiwanese college students (Not all the colleges' students can use it) to share their experiences or chat with students from different colleges' students. Moreover, the most distinguishing feature of Dcard is "Draw Card", if your self introduction is conform to the app's regulations, you will match with one Dcard user after 12:00 everyday.

After introducing Dcard, I am going to talk about the disadvantages that this app has caused because since Dcard began in 2011, it already has some controversial events.

*Anonymity
Anonymity is also one of the feature of Dcard, it means that users can upload aggressive and insult words but don't need to show their name. This kind of situation sometimes happened, although the app's controllers can delete those words; however, it's a Internet world nowadays, and messages can spread very fast, it may already caused harms to whom involved.

*Sponsored Post
Sometimes we can find some users upload propaganda and seems to introduce clothing or cosmetics, but in fact, they just want to advertising some brands that sponsored them. The reason why there are still this kind of article appeared is because Dcard dose not have precise standard. Dcard's articles divide in many categories, but in some categories , share personal information and advertising is allow and some categories can't. Maybe Dard has to come up with a more complete regulations to solve this problem.

As a Dcard user, I do have some feeling about the changing of Dcard, so next week I will share another feeling and also finish this topic. I will be glad if you can share your opinion of Dcard, see you next week.

Chapter 4 - Basketball(3) - NBA Players

     Some people might think that basketball is just a sport; however, NBA, is not just a sport association. As the highest level of basketball, NBA is consists of many elements around the world and not only attract many excellent players but also many HANDSOME players, so I am going to introduce some part of handsome player this week and next week.

     Because there so many handsome players, I would like to introduce these five players first:

     

       

1.Chandler Parsons(MEM)- 28 yrs / 206 cm          
Parsons is famous for his appearance and his basketball; however, this season he was suffered from his severe knee injury.

         

       



2. J.J Redick(LAC) - 32 yrs / 193 cm

    Redick is a shooter in NBA, especially his three points shot and his free throw, and he is an indispensable player for his team.              

         

       



3. Kevin Love(CLE) - 28 yrs / 208 cm

    As a power forward, Love not only has a great rebounding ability, but also has good three points hit rate; moreover, he helped Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Championship last season.

                                                                                                 

          

         


4. David Lee(SAS) - 33 yrs / 206 cm

    Although Lee's performance can not compared with his performance when he was young in recent years, but we can't look down his experience, after all, he had played at least ten years in NBA.

       

               

            

5. Gordon Hayward(UTA)-27 yrs /203 cm

    Though Hayward is just 27 years old, he had already become the started player at his team, not like some players like to stay in the club all night, instead, Hayward focuses on his   basketball skills, and tries his best to help his team.

Chapter 3 - Basketball(2) - OB Game

Really really far

  Although I planned to introduce the school gym more clearly this week, but I want to talk about a special basketball game I participated in last Sunday. The word "OB" is the abbreviation of "Old Boys", and means that I have chance to play basketball with many seniors who had played in our department's basketball team.
  Because of some of seniors have to work on week days, there are some limitations of the time of OB game. There were three matches and the first game was at 7:30 a.m.; moreover, the game place is at Xinhua Vocational High School, so we had to depart from our school at 6 o'clock a.m.
  Though the weather was not good and even rained, after riding the scooter for half an hour, we finally arrived our destination. Once we went into the gym, I started to feel excited because OB game is a traditional event for our team and for a long time, and I have such honor to joined the special game.
  It was a pity that we lost both two matches, and I think we still have some room to improve our teamwork. When we played against other seniors, I saw a lot of good ball movement and nice teamwork, all the seniors showed their experience even some of them don't play basketball very often recently. I really had a great day and learned a lot, I hope that someday when I become a senior and even graduate for many years, I can still play basketball with my teammates, seniors and juniors.

Chapter 2- Work Out

In this semester, there is one thing almost becomes my daily routine - work out at the gym. Although I applied the user card last semester, I started to go to the school gym this semester. As for the user card, we can choose the year card or 300 dollars card. If we choose year card, we have to give the staff our student ID card , one inch photo and pay 1200 dollars. If we have done the steps above, all we need is to wait for just a few minutes, and we can get a pretty card.

And if we choose to apply the 300 dollars card, we need to give only student ID card and 300 dollars. If we use this card, we can only go to the gym for ten times and means that each time for thirty dollars, and that's why I choose to apply the year card.
Once we get our user card, there's another important thing we have to know - the opening time. Our school have two gyms in different campus and I only take the gym in Sheng-Li campus for example. Actually, the gym opens for whole week, but different days have different opening time. From Monday to Friday, the gym opens from 08:00-10:00 and 17:30-22:00, but Tuesday and Thursday have special restriction. And for the weekend, the gym opens from 09:00-12:00 and 15:00-22:00.

It is a rough introduction of the gyms in our school, and next time I will show the gym's inside and some special equipment.

Chapter 1 - Basketball

  Since our department's basketball team is going to attend the competition tomorrow, as a member of the team, I want to share my feeling after staying in the team for a semester. Basically, it's hard to be a starter for a freshman in most of departments' basketball: however, not only I but also one of my freshman classmate became starters at the big games soon after we joining the team. Some of my friends are envy because I have the chance to be a starter as a freshman, but it's also shows the serious problem of our team, lack  of member.

  Although being a starter is honor to me, the lack of the member has caused many problems to our team. If a team wants to be stronger and stronger, has enough members is one of the key points. There are must some excellent members and usually they are starters in a team, but no one can play with full energy during the whole game, including them. The substitution players, just like the starters, plays another key point because the team can't rely on just a few people, so they are important backup to the team.

  I am willing to accept many failures if they can make me become a stronger person so that I can help the team to get close to success. Our team have be defeated many times, and sometimes are landslides; however, this is also the team that taught me a lot of things, not only basketball knowledge but also the sense of teamwork. In the end, no matter what the result is in this time's competition, all I hope is to learn more and can try the best to help the team.

The Preface

Life, seems to be a complecated but also a simple word. 

College, the stage that begin to turn my simple life into complicated.

  What become complicated are not things around but my heart, and after experienced a semester of college life, why can not feel the meaning of being a college student? After becoming a college student, I have more time and freedom to to decide what to do in my free time; however, there were just time and time wasted. When I was a child, I was eagered to grow up as soon as posible; but when  I grow up....

  The things I want to do are too many, finding which thing I can do better is my goal now. Life is not only short also should be lived in a proper way; college life is also short and should be lived in a colorful way. This is the first time I write blog and post on the web, and I hope that I can gradually find out and live in my ideal college by record my daily life with this blog. If there is someone read my blog, I am willing to read the comment you leave and also I hope that you can share your feeling or experience.

 In the end, new semester must have some goals and I will keep record by the blog in order to push me achive the goals. First :have progress in acdemic performence. Second: work out regularly in order to have a better body. And last : meet the miss right
